Ilya getting ready for a big day
First time I come across this billboard. White Mischief!
I really wonder what it was all about. Note that all women wear same red sari.
If you like this sort of stuff, Kathmandu is for you
First of many - guy carrying stuff on his back. This seems to be the largest industry in Nepal - hauling shit.
I'm the manager here
Obey your thirst!
Places to go, people to see
A running theme in Nepal - six-pointed stars on every corner. There is another symbol that's very popular, guess what it is.
This is called a Stupah. Most buddhist temples have it.
What's interesting is how this temple is surrounded by regular houses. It's basically someone's "dvor"
Ilya got tagged
Very interesting medieval painting of teeth pulled. Is it supposed to say how much more advanced (100 yrs?) this clinic is?
Take your pick
Literally - a hole in the wall
I wish I tried these
I'm getting a sim card. Because of the Diwali holiday the telecom is running a special - can get the card for almost nothing compared to 500 rupees normal cost.
On account of my touristiness I was given preferrential treatment
That's my application. Had to have a photo.
Meanwhile papa and Ilya waiting for me outside
What I found amazing is how produce sellers in poor countries specialize in one fruit or vegetable. This guy sells peppers
Colors galore. These street sellers of spices are a gem for photographers.
Scales just like in the USSR
Most important part of the day - guy running his PnL
Another spice seller
Bakery. Love the numbers - don't have to explain which croissant you want
This is the god of dental work. I'm serious
It's hard pass up a spice seller
I was not kidding - Tothache Relief God - explanation
