First photo in Nepal (that made the cut). Sums up Kathmandu well - all the ingredients you see here are present but 1000 times more.
Expression #2
Papa sleeping like a baby.
That's how they showed Old Man Winter in Soviet cartoons - blowing cold air across the planes.

Ilya getting ready for a big day
Taking a taxi to the tourist area of town, our hotel is out of the way.
Only driver has to wear a helmet by law.
First time I come across this billboard. White Mischief!
As soon as we get to the tourist area, some march starts.
All these women are marching. It's like St Patrick Day parade, but they're all sober and Nepalese instead of drunk and Irish.
I really wonder what it was all about. Note that all women wear same red sari.
If you like this sort of stuff, Kathmandu is for you
First of many - guy carrying stuff on his back. This seems to be the largest industry in Nepal - hauling shit.

Came to a buddhist temple
A running theme in Nepal - six-pointed stars on every corner. There is another symbol that's very popular, guess what it is.
This is called a Stupah. Most buddhist temples have it.
What's interesting is how this temple is surrounded by regular houses. It's basically someone's "dvor"

Family Dentalclinic
Very interesting medieval painting of teeth pulled. Is it supposed to say how much more advanced (100 yrs?) this clinic is?
